I was delighted this week when I found my first four –leaved clover, not just because there is a chance good fortune will come my way but because it shows me that my eye for detail is developing. I saw the clover from a stanced position, simply looked down amongst the bed of clover and recognised one that stood out from the others.

I don’t credit myself with good eyesight, in fact, lately where I have been painting smaller pictures for Christmas card designs I have suffered with deteriorating vision, but this was evidence that I am developing an artist’s eye; looking for detail and recognising things that previously I would not have appreciated.

I’m hoping that this also indicates my artistic ability will develop further. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, if the four-leaved clover does bring good fortune, maybe artistic development will be the promised treasure! I hope so because there is always the need to get better, to reach the potential, of which the boundaries constantly stretch.
