Lockdown 2020 - Abstract Expressions
The coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and the subsequent lockdown has given us all time for reflection.
The human response to the crises has inspired a series of abstract paintings representing the various shared emotions that have carried us through times of difficulty.
We recognise that life is strengthened by the appreciation and recognition of a universal spirit.
Observation:
During Lockdown 2020, many have had restricted freedom, for some the reminders of a life continuing outside has been hugely appreciated more so than ever before. The sound of birdsong has been a comfort to many as a reminder that somewhere life is continuing, it has also been a reminder of how much we, as a species, take for granted.
A sparrow is a common native bird that we see so often we hardly notice, but there is the thought that they have witnessed us. Maybe when our freedom is granted again we will no longer take such sights for granted.
